By Dayana Abuin Rios on Aug 5, 2025 2:05:54 PM
Education has the power to transform lives — but for many children in Buenos Aires' most underserved communities, it's often out of reach. One non-profit organisation is working to change that by providing access to education, meals, and a safe space for the children of street recyclers to learn and grow. Their mission is clear: to break the cycle of poverty through learning and opportunity.

How CBMC (Christian Business Men's Connection) globalized their event with Interpefy AI Speech Translation
By Aleesha Jacob on Feb 27, 2025 9:42:23 AM
Overview
From October 23-26, 2024, CBMC (Christian Business Men's Connection) hosted its Asia Pacific Convention at the Galaxy International Convention Centre in Macau, China. This significant event brought together Christian business leaders from across the globe, requiring seamless communication across multiple languages to ensure an inclusive and engaging experience. CBMC sought a scalable and budget-friendly solution to bridge communication barriers for attendees from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
The Challenge
The need for AI Speech Translation Solutions
CBMC faced the challenge of getting AI speech translation solutions for a wide range of languages within a limited budget. With attendees representing over 20 countries, the event required speech translation from Chinese and English into Thai, Korean, Vietnamese, and Khmer. The high cost of traditional simultaneous interpretation for these language combinations posed a significant hurdle for the non-profit organisation. Other than that, the organisation needed clear, accurate, and accessible translation to facilitate meaningful engagement with the event’s content.
The Solution
Interprefy provided CBMC with their cost-effective, secure, scalable, and innovative solution Interprefy AI, encompassing live captions and subtitles and AI speech translation, combined with the Audience Mode feature of the Interprefy mobile app. This allowed attendees to access real-time voice translations directly on their smartphones, eliminating the need for expensive headsets or dedicated devices. This solution addressed CBMC's budgetary constraints while delivering high-quality, real-time speech translation.
Implementation
From the initial contact on August 22, 2024, through multiple emails and meetings withInterprefy’s Sales Leaders leading up to the event on October 19, 2024, Interprefy supported and closely collaborated with CBMC. Discussions focused on the convention's specific translation needs, budget considerations, and proposal approvals. Interprefy's team worked diligently to tailor the solution to CBMC's unique requirements. The user-friendly Interprefymobile app made it easy for attendees to select their preferred language and access real-time speech translation throughout the convention.
Results
Interprefy proved instrumental in creating a truly global and unified experience for CBMC's Asia Pacific Convention. Their immaculate real-time speech translation facilitated smooth communication and fostered a strong sense of inclusivity among diverse attendees. A particularly noteworthy success story involved the Mongolian delegation, whose language needs had not been pre-configured in advance. Interprefy’s flexible platform allowed for the quick addition of Mongolian as a supported language, ensuring the delegation's full participation and enriching their convention experience.
Our partnership with Interprefy was key to creating a truly global and unified experience. Collaboration with Interprefy quickly adapted, providing instant translation to Mongolian and enabling full participation. This level of accessibility was invaluable, and it wouldn't have been possible without Interprefy.- Jonathan Li, Event Organizer, CBMC

International Seabed Authority: RSI and AV support at hybrid event
By Patricia Magaz on Jan 2, 2023 12:31:00 PM
The International Seabed Authority (ISA) is an autonomous international organization made up of 167 Member States, and the European Union. It is mandated under the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) to organise, regulate and control all mineral-related activities in the international seabed area for the benefit of mankind as a whole.
Overview
The 2022 Women in the Law of the Sea Conference celebrated the 40th anniversary the adoption of UNCLOS in New York in September. The three-day conference took place in a hybrid format and gathered over 330 participants who joined either from the Permanent Mission of Singapore, the United Nations headquarters in New York or remotely. Structured around nine panels, the Conference was the opportunity to hear from leaders and experts in ocean governance and the law of the sea.
For this event, like in over 30 other in-person, hybrid and virtual events since 2019, ISA turned to Interprefy to enable remote simultaneous interpretation.
The Challenge
A venue without the technical setup
Because the Conference happened during a high-level week in New York, ISA had venue issues which meant a new venue had to be found last minute for the first day of the event. The available venue, however, happened to lack any technical setup.
Though accustomed to working together, ISA and Interprefy found themselves just a few days away from the start of the event with an added challenge to resolve: the lack of even internet connection at the event venue.
The Approach
Leveraging an international network of professional AV providers
ISA informed Interprefy about the lack of technology resources at the venue and the Interprefy Team jumped on board to help solve the situation. At that point, it was a matter of either finding the technological setup and enabling an internet connection or calling the event off.
The Interprefy Team searched among their trusted network of audiovisual providers in the area and secured the assistance of Mainline AV International.
A technician from Mainline AV International travelled to the event venue on the same day of the event and took care of everything in-person.

A camera was set up at the front of the room to capture the delegates (photo above) and another one at the back of the room to film the speakers and presentation (photo below). The technician sourced by Interprefy ensured that the feeds remained stable and of the highest quality at all times so that the remote interpreters, remote attendees, and in-person attendees could follow seamlessly.
The Outcome
The AV team sourced by Interprefy managed all the cabling, the cameras, the internet and the remote simultaneous interpretation set-up onsite and ensured the event could take place.
Additionally, having an Interprefy partner already trained in the ins and outs of remote simultaneous interpretation on-site meant that the interpretation streams were easily set up and the in-person and remote attendees could follow the Conference successfully in the language of their choice.
Thanks to the Interprefy Team who did their magic and provided us with literally everything, from the internet access, to equipment, to the person to support us on-site, sort of last minute, we could run the Conference successfully.- Katharina Serrano, Programme Management Officer at ISA
