Zurich, Switzerland, January 30, 2026 — Interprefy was proud to support the 38th European Film Awards as official language partner for the second consecutive year, delivering multilingual communication for one of Europe’s most prestigious live broadcast events.
Organised by the European Film Academy, the European Film Awards celebrate excellence in European cinema and bring together filmmakers, actors, and industry leaders from across the continent. The Awards serve as a platform for cultural exchange, highlighting Europe’s linguistic and creative diversity on an international stage.
Interprefy first partnered with the European Film Academy in 2024, supporting the 37th European Film Awards and delivering real-time multilingual interpretation and live captions for the event. As a live broadcast production, the ceremony required a solution built for precision, efficiency, and seamless integration.
Interprefy’s setup was fully aligned with the broadcast workflow, enabling accurate caption delivery on venue screens and real-time language switching as speakers presented in their native languages. With 21 languages supported, audiences were able to follow the ceremony clearly, regardless of the language spoken on stage.
Accessibility was central to the experience. On-site guests could access live translation and captions via the Interprefy mobile app by scanning a QR code and selecting their preferred language, ensuring inclusive access throughout the event.

Building on the success of the 2024 collaboration, Interprefy returned to partner with the European Film Academy and support the 2026 38th European Film Awards, which took place on Saturday, January 17, as a live broadcast event, welcoming over 1,000 attendees on site and reaching tens of thousands of viewers online. With speakers and contributors from across Europe taking the stage and presenting in multiple languages, the event required language access that could perform reliably in real time integrate seamlessly into the complex broadcast production, and perform reliably under high-stakes conditions.
Interprefy provided remote simultaneous interpretation in over 30 languages, supported by AI-powered live captions, enabling speakers to present in their native languages while audiences followed the ceremony clearly and without disruption. Language access was available via the Interprefy mobile app and web browser, supporting both on-site and remote participation.
All interpretation and captioning services were fully embedded into the broadcast workflow and supported end to end by Interprefy’s professional services team, from planning and rehearsal through to live delivery. This ensured consistent performance throughout the event and allowed organisers and broadcasters to focus entirely on the show itself.
The European Film Awards are a celebration of creativity across cultures. Supporting that exchange through language access, at this scale and under live conditions, is exactly what Interprefy is built for - said Sven Schumacher, Head of Marketing at Interprefy
