Interprefy Announces Speaker Labels for Clearer Multilingual Conversations

Written by Dayana Abuin Rios | August 20, 2026

Zurich, Switzerland, August 20, 2026 —  Interprefy  has announced Speaker Labels, a new live captioning and subtitles feature that identifies who is speaking in real time and displays each speaker's name directly within the caption feed. The feature helps multilingual audiences follow conversations more naturally whenever more than one person is speaking.

As meetings, panels and events become more global, they also involve more voices. When several people contribute to a discussion, live captions and translated speech can be harder to follow, particularly during fast-moving, multi-speaker conversations. Clear speaker context therefore matters just as much as accurate translation.

Speaker Labels address this by processing each speaker's audio separately, rather than combining every voice into a single caption stream. Because each contribution is handled independently, captions clearly show when the speaker changes, and translations reflect what each person actually said more closely, all without adding any delay to the live experience.

What sets Speaker Labels apart is how it works alongside Interprefy's wider multilingual toolkit. Rather than a standalone captioning add-on, the feature is built natively into the same platform that delivers Interprefy's AI speech translation and live captions and subtitles, so organisations get speaker context and multilingual accuracy from one connected solution, in every supported language.

The feature brings four benefits to multilingual meetings:

  • clear speaker identification in real time,

  • improved translation accuracy,

  • more readable captions and

  • no added latency.

Speaker Labels are particularly useful in panel discussions, internal meetings, client and partner conversations, and event recordings or replays, where understanding who is speaking is central to following the discussion.

In multilingual meetings, knowing who is speaking matters just as much as understanding what is being said. Speaker Labels bring that context directly into the caption experience, so audiences can follow conversations naturally, in any language.— Oddmund Braaten, CEO, Interprefy

As with all Interprefy features, Speaker Labels runs within Interprefy's secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure. Data is processed in ISO 27001-certified environments hosted in Europe, and customer data is never used to train Interprefy's AI models, so organisations can adopt Speaker Labels without compromising on privacy or compliance.

Looking ahead, Interprefy plans to build on Speaker Labels with further enhancements, including voice differentiation per speaker, as part of its ongoing investment in making multilingual meetings easier to follow.
